Thứ bảy.
Chiều này, như đã hẹn, con Bò và mình đi nhậu, héhé!!!
Mí đầu, mình nghĩ m chẳng bao giờ có duyên với mí vụ ăn chơi kiểu 1 chọi 1 này. Thực tế đã chứng minh: cả 2 tuần liền trời nắng gắt ko 1 giọt mưa, tự dưng ngay ngày 2 đứa hẹn đi, buổi chiều mây đen ầm ầm kéo tới, mưa rầm rầm từ Sg về BH, pó chíu :(. Với lại mí lần trước m thấy đi kiểu này cũng chẳng hay ho gì, nói 1 hồi là hết chuyện, vậy là ngồi ngó nhau, đuối.
Nhưng lần này vui thật. Mới gặp nhau là có chiện để nói ròy. AKak, dạo này đang nghèo mà phải vừa chung độ vừa thực hiện lời hứa khao tháng lương đầu tiên + học bổng, lòng đau như cắt, nước mắt đầm đìa. 2 đứa vô Lotte. mum mum. Ngồi ăn mình lại nhớ cái chỗ ấy, cũng khoảng thời gian này năm ngoái, mình với thằng Cường bóng và bạn Long lá ăn mừng đậu Đh, ui, nhớ wa' đi àh.
2 đứa ngồi ở cái bàn gần cửa sổ, nhưng ko nhìn ra ngoài đc vì đã bị tấm poster quảng cáo che hết ròy :p. Ăn xong 2 đứa đi lòng vòng 1 hồi, kiếm chỗ nào uống nứơc. Ghé vô cái quán trà sữa mà a3 hay tới. Ngồi 1 hồi, tám vui cực.
Nhìu lúc mình cũng ko bit nói j nữa, akak, ngồi ngó trần nhà, rồi ngó gạch lót sàn vậy thoy, nhưng ... héhé, lâu ngày gặp lại bạn bè m cứ thấy nó ấm áp sao đó, cứ như homecoming thoy :p. Đi, mình lại thấy hỉu con Bò nhìu hơn, ít nhất nó cũng ko giống những con bò khác (đậu CN sinh học KHTN mà ko thèm học, chạy ra Hn học PCCC). Àh, mình còn bit thim 1 chiện nữa là đó giờ con Bò là "độc nhãn đại hiệp", héhé. Mình ko tin đc là mí năm trời nó xài có 1 mắt, mà con mắt ấy lúc nhìn rõ, lúc ko thấy j mí ghê. Cuối tuần nó đi ròy, còn 1 bữa coi phim tối t6 nữa, hèhè...
Túm lại, hum nay rất là vui!!!

3 650 ngày
Bi giờ là 2:41 Am. Mình ko ngủ đc, mình ko muốn ngủ...
Vậy là bật máy onl. Mình gặp D onl. Mình pm cho nó, lần đầu từ khi nó đi tới giờ 2 đứa mới nói chuyện lâu như vậy, cứ như cả thế kỉ rồi ấy.
Nhanh quá. Mình ko nghĩ D sẽ đi nhanh như vậy, hồi ấy nó còn dám chắc với m là nó ko thik đi, thế mà...
M vẫn ko thể thoát khỏi cái cảm giác là nó vẫn còn đâu đó ở Q7. Nhưng sự thật thì ...
M vẫn nhớ cách đây 1 tháng 6 ngày, nó với An còn qua nhà mình mượn usb và tấm hình chụp cả lớp hôm phát thưởng cuối năm ...
M vẫn nhớ cách đây 5 tháng, nó còn qua trường mình chỉ mình làm flash ...
M vẫn nhớ cách đây 2 năm, nó còn cổ vũ mình lúc mí đứa con gái trong lớp thi kéo co (mình vẫn còn nhớ giọng nó kêu to tên mình) ...
M vẫn nhớ cách đây 3 năm, ngày nào nó cũng ngồi trước mặt mình ...
M vẫn nhớ cách đây 4 năm, m thấy nó đứng lên phát biểu trong tiết toán ( lúc ấy m tự hỏi ở đâu ra cái thằng vừa xấu vừa chảnh này)...
Và bây giờ ...
Như mọi người, tất cả những con người muốn trở thành "ai đó" ...
M chỉ biết nói (như mọi người vẫn thường nói): " Gud bye and gud luk".

Trống rỗng ...
Hôm thứ ba, mưa tầm tã, 1 cơ hội hiếm hoi để tự do thoải mái walking in the rain, 1 cảm giác tự do hơn bao giờ, có thể nghe đựơc tiếng mưa rơi bên tai, cảm nhận từng giọt mưa lạnh buốt rơi trên da, nếm được cả vị ngọt của chúng...
Thứ bảy, ngày m mong đợi nhất. Buổi học diễn ra nhẹ nhàng hơn thường lệ ( thầy có vẻ dễ hơn là mọi người tưởng). Lần học qs này m rất ấn tượng mấy thầy vì mấy thầy khá là dễ tính, nhiệt tình, vui vẻ, thân thiện, ... hoàn toàn khác hẳn mấy người m đã học suốt 3 năm cấp III (chỉ có thể túm lại bằng 1 câu: có ác cảm ngay từ lần gặp đầu tiên). Chiều về sớm và mẹ lên phòng trọ đón, chỉ mong có thế. Ôi, home sweet home!!!
Trên đường về, kiu mẹ chạy ngang trường xem tụi nó có đi sn Đức Anh hog. Nhắc mí nhớ, cả tuần mấy đứa nt kiu m đi, mà đó giờ đi mí vụ xôm tụ vậy thì m có hay nói năng gì đâu, toàn nghe tụi nó lảm nhảm ròy comment mí câu cũng nhảm nốt, thế thoy. Mấy hôm trước Đ.A nt hỏi cho gf của nó ngủ nhà m dc hog, pa mẹ cho, vậy là m đồng ý dù chẳng bit tí teo gì về ẻm, nhưng thoy cứ ok đại. Hog hỉu sao 2 hôm sau đó Đ.A nt rút laị, sợ phiền phức j đó, hix, pó tay.
Mẹ mới dừng trước cổng trường cái là 2 thằng khùng Ve Chó zới Đẹp trùm mò ra, lôi cổ m vô, hỏi sau tới trễ vậy. Phải nói là tụi nó gan vì cái bộ dạng te tua mí hoc qs về, hôi rình, đen thui í mà nó dám đụng vô, đúng là lì :">. Vẫn như mọi ngày, gặp là cãi lộn, chửi lộn, đập lộn, nhìu lúc chắc tụi nó cũng hog nhớ m là nữ nhi nữa, đồ độc ác. Ròy mama kiu, 2 thằng khùng chạy tới, lảm nhảm j đó zới mama ròy thằng DuHo cũng mò ra nói: " con chào má". Háhá, đuối toàn tập, mama bit nó là ai m chit liền :)). Cuối cùng ko thoát nổi mí thằng tửng ấy, m đành chơi lun bộ đồ học qs nhào vô lun, hix, đeo theo caí balô, hog mún giữa đường bị hội đồng vì mí chữ "ĐHSP HCM khoa Anh". Gặp cả con Bò mí từ HN vô nữa chớ, hum bữa nó nhờ m ăn jùm phần của nó mà, hic, giờ sao lại mò ra đây? Thất vọng wa' :p. Gặp m cái là nó đòi khao, chán, có bi nhiu nói hoài, chắc nói tới chừng nào m chán m khao nó mới chịu thôi. Nhìn nó cũng chẳng thay đổi j mấy, vẫn là con Bò. Rồi cả DiDu, NoTA, KimmA, con Keka, cả đội tuyển Warcraft (wơ rác) :)), zui hết chỗ nói, và có cả gf của Chiên Xịt nữa.
Thằng TIMA chở m đến 5ri, hog hỉu sao lúc nào cũng chọn cái quán này hết. Mới vô bàn ngồi là 2 thằng khùng Ve chó zới Đẹp Trùm lại chổ m, lôi ghế ra, ròy lôi cả m ra lun, tưởng j, hỏi chừng nào nấu bún riêu cho tụi nó, pó tay. M ngồi kế Dũng, NoTA, con bò thì kế bên D. Gf của Chiên xịt xinh kinh khủng, khuôn mặt tròn tròn, cười nhìn kute ui là kute, đúng là 1 perfect match. Vậy là 1 đứa đã ra đi, hic, thoy, mừng cho nó vậy, cả đám bơ vơ ngồi chung cũng zui òy (hog bit đứa thứ 2 là ai đây??? ). Lâu lâu gặp lại thấy mọi người vẫn như xưa, dĩ nhiên là có thay đổi, nhưng vẫn còn j đó của hồi ấy. Kimma thi dc 27.5, Nota dc 23, D dc 22, HopU thì hog bit nhưng chắc là đủ xài. Hi vọng giữa tháng 8 sẽ có thể xách ba lô đi Nha Trang, iu a3 wa'.
Vậy là dc ròy, chuẩn bị 1 tuần mới thoy!!!

T.h.I.n.k
Hm, dạo này lên ít nhất là 3 kí chớ chả ít, ăn ko àh, cả ngày ngồi dán mắt vô cái máy vi tính zới cái TV, ko ú lên mí ghê chứ (nhưng có điều da trắng ra thấy rõ, híhí). Mai quyết tâm làm j đó, ko ngồi thế này nữa (đang tính nấu bún riêu cho mama, mama nhớ nó wa' roài).
Đã hơn 2 tuần roài chớ ít j, mình ko còn liên lạc zới anh nữa. Hm, ngta nói, các nhà khoa học nói thì đúng hơn, não người có kích thước lớn => xã hội mới phát triển như thế này. Nhưng sao ngta mau quên thế nhỉ??? Nhớ lại tháng trước, ôi 1tháng sống trong mộng tưởng. Hm, cứ cách ngày là có ng hỏi mình đang làm gì, hỏi mình hum nay đi học có vui hog... Nhưng ... sau 1 chiện thì mọi thứ thay đổi hẳn. Sau đó 1 tuần thì ngta có cố gắng trở lại như xưa nhưng mình thì ko thể. Bạn bè đó, nhưng ko hỉu sao mình ko thấy hứng thú như hồi xưa nữa. Và rồi sau hôm đó thì mất liên lạc lun. Bit rằng ngta ko thành thật đấy, hm...., nhưng ít nhất cũng phải có chút gì đó đọng lại trong đầu ngta chứ nhỉ, 1 tháng hơn chứ ngắn ngủi gì. Hm, hè này sẽ tiếp tục học Av, và ... mình ... sợ ... gặp lại ... anh quá. Hm..., gặp thì có sao đâu ta, mình học là chuyện của mình (chỉ ước gì đừng chung lớp). Hm..., vậy đó, có thể kết luận là mất đi 1 người bạn được chưa nhỉ??? Hm..., thôi kệ nó, just let it be. Thật ra mình ko nghĩ tới chuyện này nhìu vậy đâu, chẳng qua là ... hm ... cảm thấy con người nhìu lúc thật kì lạ. Giống như mí đứa bạn trong lớp, gặp nhau onl, lúc đầu còn nhảy vô pm, từ từ thì làm ngơ vậy đó. Thấy nick nó sáng, ko có dấu busy mình cũng ko dám vô nói chuyện. Hm..., có những đứa mình add roài, bạn cùng lớp cả đấy, mình pm mà nó hog reply mí ghê, mà m đâu có thù oán j với nó đâu nà, hix, chán. Phải chăng con người ngày càng thờ ơ với nhau??? Cũng có thể là ko, vì phòng mình đó, ai cũng đáng iu hết, ai cũng sẵn sàng giúp đỡ nhau hết. Hm ..., chắc là tuỳ người tuỳ hoàn cảnh thoy.
Hà hà, mí hum nay đang tự khám phá bản thân qua âm nhạc. Hì hì, giờ mới thấy mình hát ko thua gì ... Chaien :D. Nhưng mà bài Shining friends cũng khá chuẩn đấy chứ nhỉ :P. Chỉ có điều là nhạc nền hơi nhỏ (lúc đó 11h đêm roài, ko mún giọng hát của mình đánh thức papa :">). Record mí bản demo thấy cũng hay hay, zui zui. Chỉ tội mí em HP, TD zới DH nghe xong hog nói nên lời, kaka ..., níu có nói thì cũng là dối lòng, hix. Nhưng phải công nhận mí ẻm dũng cảm thiệt :">.
Ôi, nghĩ lại hôm thi xì-pit-kinh, thấy vui vui. Lần đầu tiên việc đó xảy ra với mình. Đó giờ mình tưởng tượng ra tình huống đó cũng nhìu, nhưng chưa bao giờ nghĩ nó sẽ đến với m hết. Ui, thật là vui, hơn cả con điểm m dc nhận.
Mí hum nay mưa, mẹ nhức đầu, uống thuốc liên tục, hic, tội quá àh. MẸ nói níu hog uống thuốc sẽ nhức rất nhìu, nhưng mà ... uống nhìu đâu có tốt đâu. Mẹ bận lém, đâu có đi chữa bệnh như hồi xưa dc nữa. Chẳng bit sao giờ, hic!!! Nghĩ lại thấy mình thật là bất tài, chẳng làm đc gì cho ba mẹ hết. Chán mình quá.
Ngày mai, hi vọng sẽ làm đc những gì mình dự định. CỐ LÊN NÀO!!!

Vậy là cái blog này đã hết hạn sử dụng rùi hay sao???
Hum nay đáng lẽ ra phải học hành cho đàng hoàng thì lại ra sức ăn chơi. Sáng đi Bình Dương cái là hết nửa ngày. Chiều học dc chút ít muh cứ hog yên lòng sao đó nên tính ra thì cũng ko dc bao nhiu. Hum nay vui thật, đáng nhớ nhứt là mình đã tự nấu dc 1 bữa cơm cho pa mẹ. Lần đầu tiên mình ra tay làm hết từ a-z, nấu cơm (dĩ nhiên là = nồi cơm điện òy :">), nấu canh nà, rùi chiên cá và làm tất cả cho 1 bữa ăn vô cùng luvly :P. Chiện là hum bữa (cũng lâu lém òy, muh tại mình hay suy nghĩ nên hog thể wên dc chiện này ) có 1 ng, mới wen thui, tự nhiên đang nói chiện ngon lành thì hỏi mình nhà có mí ng, mình nói là có pa mẹ với mình, rùi ngta trừng trừng nhìn mình rùi hỏi thim 1 câu làm mình wê hết chỗ nói: " vậy e bit nấu ăn hog?" akakak, mún chit lun àh, vô duyên đến thế là cùng. Nhưng muh mí hum nay tự nhiên mình lại nghĩ tới nó. Vậy là lại ra sức nâng cao trình độ nấu nướng và phát hiện ra thim 1 thú zui của cái cuộc sống nhàm chán của mình : nấu ăn và nhìn ng khác ăn những món mình nấu :">
ÀH, tự nhiên nghe lại cái album hồi xa xưa của Celine Dion (hình như là cái album có mí bài hát ru cho con nít í, ui mình hog nhớ nổi tên nữa) thì lại thấy nhớ a3 kinh khủng :((. Hồi đó bạn bè bên nhau, đi đâu cũng có nhau, cả con Ngọc ù nữa. Bi giờ thì còn có mình mình àh, đúng nghĩa là vậy lun. Tụi nó hog bit đi đâu hết òy, đi chơi có bao h rủ mình đâu. Về nhà lúc nào cũng ôm cái máy, hog thì đi zới thằng e, riết rùi thấy tội nghiệp thằng nhỏ lun, hết có pồ :">, mình cũng thía thui :-S.
Hum wa có ghé wa cái blog trên my space thăm nó cái, định xài cái đó lun tại thấy nó cũng phổ biến và có nhìu ng xài hơn là Y!360 nhưng sao muh nó rắc rối thía hog bit. Thui, vậy là bỏ lun, từ từ tính tip.
Chờ tin của anh. Mong tới ngày đó lém a ui. Nhớ a và mún gặp a wa' đi.
Rùi, vậy là xong, hết phim. Hog bit vik j nữa h, học tip thui.
P/S: Chắc là hog có ai wa cái blog này nữa đâu ha, mà có wa thì bỏ ra 1s tặng cho Tata 1 cái com. nhỏ đi nha. Tata nghĩ là cái blog này chắc là hog còn giá trị j về điểm số nữa nên tạm thời chiếm dụng nó làm của riêng, ai mà có ý kiến ý cò j thì cứ pm cho Tata nha. Hi vọng là thầy Bình hog wa blog này, hic, níu có thì thầy đọc mí cái entry cũ xì ở dưới nha, đừng có phí thời gian đọc cái nhảm nhí này. Thui, P/s dài wa' òy, xì-tốp thui :D.

The last journal.
From my point of view, the most exciting and thrilling role-play must go to the group ALL 4 ONE. With a creative and interesting story, Mr. Vinh, Mr. Danh, Miss Thuỷ and Miss Trang turned the classroom into a real battle between a brave police, two frightened victims, and a notorious robber. No one could help laughing and applauding when Mr. Danh, acting as a police officer, holding a tiny paper gun, surprisingly rushed into the scene of the crime to negotiate with Mr. Vinh, acting as the robber, in order to save the two girls. FLYING KITES’ performance, on the other hand, was not as thrilling as the previous group, but it was undoubtedly remarkable and amusing. I was greatly impressed by the way the fortune teller dressed (Ms. Ph ư ơng sat on the ground, wearing a helmet and big sunglasses). Also, when Hien drank some kind of liquid given by the fortune teller, she immediately rushed into the WC, which I supposed to be one of the most amazing situations. Compare to FLYING KITES’ show, VIVAVN‘s play, to some extent, was kind of serious but contained a good sense of humor. Particularly, Ms. Tam gave a wonderful performance as a teacher responsible for teaching a naughty boy. She really impressed me with the way she managed with the broken glasses of Nhu Anh. When she talked to Ms. Ng an, her face looked so serious, but in an amusing way. What’s more, with an attractive voice, Ms.Ai Linh gave us an unforgettable performance of an everlasting song, “Nothing’s gonna change my love for you”, in her group’s play. Unlike other groups, my group’s role-play was quite normal and monotonous since we chose to discuss a social problem, the environmental pollution, which we believed would facilitate us to make use of the functions of giving and asking for opinions as well as agreeing and disagreeing with an opinion. Despite the play’s simplicity, we really do hope it will receive good comments from the teacher and the audiences. Generally, it is evident that all the students put a lot of time and effort into those creative role-plays.
However, sometimes, I found it difficult to catch up with the stories because I could hardly hear the performers’ soft voice. Besides, Mr. Binh was right to say that some students had problems with pronunciation. In addition, it is true that although some performances were very interesting, we could not figure out what functions were being used. Nonetheless, I believe those were just a minority. Actually, all the students did try their best and their performances showed us how much effort they had made.
In fact, I am not very interested in this kind of activity because I am not a good actress at all. Nevertheless, participating in a role-play, to some extent, enables me to practice using the functions, memorizing and calling up them easily in real-life conversations. Yesterday, do you guys know what made me extremely nervous? Yes, it was the way Mr. Binh observed each of us and put some notes down. In deed, my heart thumped wildly when he started to point out our mistakes. What an unforgettable experience, I felt like I was riding a roller coaster.
In conclusion, the show yesterday was more than a sheer mid-term test since it filled the class with lots of joys and laughter. Through such events, we can not only improve our speaking skills, but also promote the solidarity among every student.

What we have learned.
Firstly, having a good pronunciation is one of the crucial aims of learning speaking. In the previous semester, the book Sound English was used and it proved to be undoubtedly useful for developing my pronunciation. Initially, I found it was quite boring since all I had to do was listening to simple sounds and reproducing them. Nevertheless, after several months, I eventually discovered the real value of the book. By practicing little be little, I was able to make some sound contrasts used in English and felt much more confident when I had to speak in front of the class. In addition, the book facilitated me to overcome mistakes that English learners often encounter. For instance, students can produce a sound correctly when they are concentrating on it, but revert to their previous, faulty pronunciation at other times when they have to cope with grammar and vocabulary, and the meaning of what they want to say. Thanks to the book’s different exercises, I have learned how to maintain correct pronunciations in various situations. Besides correct pronunciations, stress and intonation are undeniably essential aspects of learning speaking. It would be advisable that we be taught those things in this term. Furthermore, I have been working very hard to perfect my pronunciation because speaking is one of my favorite subjects. Still, I have no idea whether I have made any progress or not. It would be very helpful if you could provide me some feedback on my oral talk last Wednesday. Also, I recommend that the book Sound English continue to be used in this term.
Secondly, learning English functions plays an important role in developing our conversation strategies. Personally, I really appreciate and benefit from the clear and direct advice and language patterns given by the course books and the teacher, because they enable me to choose the best ways to express myself in particular situations. For example, when receiving a compliment, I am supposed to say “thank you “, or “ I’m glad you like it”, which is rather contrary to what we often do in our culture. Furthermore, thanks to the functions, I can avoid saying something too directly or impolitely, which is likely to cause the listeners to feel unpleasant or disrespected. For example, when you want to decline an invitation, you can use some of these polite ways “I’d love to but I already have plans”, or “sorry but I can’t come “, instead of saying rudely “I don’t want to come”. Throughout the lessons, we are required to take part in many activities such as role-plays, discussions, debates, etc. To me, those activities provide favorable opportunities to practice and memorize the functions in different contexts, so that we can easily call up them in real-life conversations. For example, before learning the functions of expressing disagreement, I often felt reluctant to show my opinions in a conversation since I didn’t know where to start. After practicing them, I feel much more confident in speaking because I have the appropriate tools for voicing my disagreement politely and effectively. Indeed, I consider learning English functions a crucial stage in learning speaking.
Thirdly, what I am most interested in in learning speaking are class debates and discussions. In my opinion, they are opportunities to practice both the English you already know and some new ways of expressing things. For instance, when we want to say something, we can try using some expressions like “as far as I am concerned…”, or “the way I see it …” instead of simply saying “I think …” Furthermore, class debates and discussions are interactive and lively activities where we are not prepared in advance, so critical thinking to respond to other people’s opinions and questions seems to be really necessary. For example, when somebody objects to your ideas or asks you why you choose that solution, you are supposed to give a satisfactory reply supporting your view points spontaneously. Through those activities, your agility can gradually be developed. In addition, unlike role-plays, where we all become actors and actress with perfect pronunciation and beautiful sentences (because everything is prepared ahead of time), class debates and discussions allow us to point out our mistakes. Particularly, when you are unprepared, you are likely to encounter a lot of mistakes in pronunciation as well as grammar and vocabulary. Recognizing the mistakes and learning from them help us perfect our speaking skills. Besides, I would like to recommend that the teacher should encourage all the students in the class to actively participate in those activities, since I realize there are many students feeling hesitant to express themselves in front of the class. I believe a few words of encouragement from the teacher will give them lots of incentive to voice what they think.
Fourthly, keeping a group’s blog is a distinctive feature of this semester. Initially, it seemed to have nothing to do with speaking. Sometimes, I even found it time-consuming as preparing an entry to post on the blog required a lot of time and effort. Nevertheless, after a few weeks, I got used to it and step by step discovered its potential benefit. Blogging encourages me to use the internet more effectively. Indeed, I have to spend more time searching for useful information supporting the lessons than chatting or playing games online. Moreover, there are lots of things to learn when you visit other groups’ blogs. Also, I find giving and receiving comments are the most interesting parts of blogging. However, I made a lot of mistakes in posting new entries for I was unclear about the rules. Particularly, I uploaded many pictures without including their sources. In addition, I myself posted several irrelevant entries on the blogs, which are regarded as junk. Thanks to the teacher’s reminder, I eventually recognized my faults and already removed all the unsuitable things. Generally, keeping a blog, to some extent, is a good way to study, but I can hardly consider it one of the most effective methods to improve speaking skills.
Fifthly, compare to last term, the format of this term’s mid-term test is rather different. We are required to do a lot of things such as role-plays, presentations, writing blogs… However, what I would like to discuss here is the presentation. Actually, I really looked forward to it since it was a chance for me to act like a real teacher. Reckoning its importance, my group had a big plan for it. The project was intended to comprise two parts, the PPT presentation and some clips to illustrate the lessons. In order to recording some daily conversations, we decided to spend a whole day traveling around district one, interviewing foreigners. Because this was the first time we had done this kind of job, we felt quite scared in the beginning. Nevertheless, we soon overcame that fear after talking to some friendly tourists. It was very lucky that we met lots of kind foreigners who were more than willing to answer our questions. To return their honesty, we gave them postcards as souvenirs and they seemed to be very happy, which left a deep impression on each of us. Also, meeting and talking to those people enable us to practice our English and made us become more confident. After the journey, we felt very happy and hopeful about the project. Unfortunately, we were terribly let down by an unforeseen circumstance. Our efforts were in vain because the videos’ quality was so poor that we could not include them in our presentation. We could hardly recognize ourselves in the clips due to the horrible sound and extremely blurred images. As a result, out presentation did not live up to our expectation. Nonetheless, the journey remained an unforgettable memory in our mind. Furthermore, the project was more than a mid-term test since we benefited a lot from it. In deed, we have learned how to promote the solidarity and also gained a lot of first-hand experience.
In summary, in the second semester, there are many considerable changes in studying speaking. Personally, those changes contributed to giving me another attitude towards speaking class. I tried my best to become more active, talkative (perhaps) and confident in order to get good results in one of my most favorite subjects. Learning speaking is a long-term process which requires a lot of patience and attempts; however, with the help of my teacher and classmates, I hope things will become easier.

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR PRONUNCIATION

Pronouncing every word correctly leads to poor pronunciation! Good pronunciation comes from stressing the right words - this is because English is a time-stressed language.
Difficulty Level: Hard Time Required: Varies
Here's How:
1. Learn the following rules concerning pronunciation.
2. English is considered a stressed language while many other languages are considered syllabic.
3. In other languages, such as French or Italian, each syllable receives equal importance (there is stress, but each syllable has its own length).
4. English pronunciation focuses on specific stressed words while quickly gliding over the other, non-stressed, words.
5. Stressed words are considered content words: Nouns e.g. kitchen, Peter - (most) principle verbs e.g. visit, construct - Adjectives e.g. beautiful, interesting - Adverbs e.g. often, carefully
6. Non-stressed words are considered function words: Determiners e.g. the, a - Auxiliary verbs e.g. am, were - Prepositions e.g. before, of - Conjunctions e.g. but, and - Pronouns e.g. they, she
7. Read the following sentence aloud: The beautiful Mountain appeared transfixed in the distance.
8. Read the following sentence aloud: He can come on Sundays as long as he doesn't have to do any homework in the evening.
9. Notice that the first sentence actually takes about the same time to speak well!
10. Even though the second sentence is approximately 30% longer than the first, the sentences take the same time to speak. This is because there are 5 stressed words in each sentence.
11. Write down a few sentences, or take a few example sentences from a book or exercise.
12. First underline the stressed words, then read aloud focusing on stressing the underlined words and gliding over the non-stressed words.
13. Be surprised at how quickly your pronunciation improves! By focusing on stressed words, non-stressed words and syllables take on their more muted nature.
14. When listening to native speakers, focus on how those speakers stress certain words and begin to copy this.
Tips:
1. Remember that non-stressed words and syllables are often "swallowed" in English.
2. Always focus on pronouncing stressed words well, non-stressed words can be glided over.
3. Don't focus on pronouncing each word. Focus on the stressed words in each sentence

Once, my English teacher ( he's from New York) talked about how animals' sounds are different in many countries. His talk was so interesting that I got feed off from it to write this entry.

tips how to improve listening skill
For me, although I like litening English songs and watching U.S. films, I am not good at listening and listening tests are my nightmares. Sometimes I wonder how can I do my listening tests confidently or how can I watch U.S. movies without subtitle. So I've searched the internet and found some tips that I'd to share with you to improve our listening skill. I hope you enjoy them

Most beginners get difficulty in listening practice. Some of them cannot catch the dialogue due to their lack of vocabularies, pronunciation and grammar. Here are some tips to improve your listening skill:
1. Select a book with the cassette, which is suitable for your level. It will help you practise the listening easily and you can anticipate the level of difficulty.
2. Listen to the cassette without reading the text/ dialogue once or twice. When you find difficulty in grasping the meaning, listen again while scrutinizing the text/ dialogue.
3. Pay attention carefully to the pronunciation and intonation. If you want to improve your pronunciation, listen and repeat the dialogue/ text by pausing each sentence.
4. After listening to the text/ dialogue, do the exercise and check your answer with the answer-key or with your teacher.
5. If you watch TV, select the English program/ film. Listen to the dialogue carefully without reading the translation (text).
6. Listen to English songs and learn the words. If you like singing, memorize the words and sing them.
7. Practise the above tips everyday although only half an hour. By practising the listening exercises many times, your listening will improve faster.

"Designer" Punctuation
Lesson Summary
This lesson covers some of the less commonly used punctuation marks, including hyphens, parentheses, brackets, ellipses, and diagonal slashes. While these marks aren't necessary all that often, when they are necessary it's important to use them correctly.
The punctuation marks covered in this lesson—hyphens, parentheses, brackets, ellipses, and diagonals—are not often used in regular writing. However, they serve very specific purposes. Knowing and understanding their functions gives a writer an advantage in communicating ideas. Since most of these rules are so specialized that few people know them, we'll begin immediately with the lesson rather than with an assessment of your current knowledge. The last part of the lesson discusses using numbers in written text.
Hyphens
The main purpose of a hyphen (-) is to join words in creating compound nouns or adjectives. Hyphens signal words that work together for a single purpose.
Parentheses
• Use parentheses to enclose explanatory material that interrupts the normal flow of the sentences and is only marginally related to the text.
Thirty-sixth Street (a party street if there ever was one) is a fun place to live.
Our neighbors threw a huge party on New Year's Eve. (Fortunately, we were invited.)
Unfortunately, another set of neighbors (they were not invited) called the police to complain about the noise.
We party-goers (how were we to know?) were completely surprised by the officers.
Notice the last three sentences. Each set of parentheses contains a complete sentence. If the parenthetical construction comes at the end of a sentence, it is punctuated as its own sentence within the parentheses. On the other hand, if it comes within another sentence, no capital letters or periods are necessary. However, if the parenthetical construction in the middle of another sentence is a sentence that would normally require a question mark or exclamation point, include that punctuation.
• Use parentheses to enclose information when accuracy is essential.
The two sons of Richard Hannika (Scott and William) are sole heirs to his fortune.
We hereby agree to sell the heirloom for sixty-three dollars ($63.00).
• Use parentheses to enclose letters or numbers marking a division.
This lesson includes several little-used, often-misused punctuation marks: (a) hyphens, (b) parentheses, (c) brackets, (d) diagonals, and (e) ellipses.
Your task consists of three steps: (1) locating information, (2) writing a report, and (3) delivering a presentation about your findings.
Brackets
• Use brackets to enclose parenthetical material within parentheses.
Brandi planned to work as an aeronautic engineer (she completed an internship at National Aeronautics and Space Administration [NASA]) as soon as she completed her doctoral work.
• Use brackets to enclose words inserted into a quotation.
"The next head nurse [Shawna DeWitt] will face the challenge of operating the floor with a reduced staff."
• Use brackets around the word sic to show that an error in a quotation was made by the original writer or speaker.
"Unless we heel [sic] the nation's economic woes, social problems will continue to mount."

The original text of an article in our Writing course book.
However, what astounded me most was the first article of the book. I am not in the habit of reading a book or listening to a music Cd from the begining to the end, but the title was so familiar that I had to start reading it. I bet that you all still remember the first exercise in our writing course book " The first thanks giving". I suppose it may have been taken from the bellow composition.
Mayflower II, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
In September of 1620, a hundred Pilgrims left England to come to America. They came from Plymouth, a town in England. Many of the people came for the religious freedom. All came for new lives.
The Pilgrims came on a ship, the Mayflower. It looked like the ship in the picture. The Pilgrims sailed for more than two months. It was a long and difficult trip.
In December of 1620, the Pilgrims came to their new home in America। They named their new town Plymouth. The first winter in Plymouth, the Pilgrims were hungry, sick and cold। Many people died. Native Americans, the Wampannoag Indians, helped the Pilgrims. The Wampanoags helped the Pilgrims build houses. They also taught the Pilgrims how to plant corn and beans.
So for three days, the Pilgrims and the Indians ate and celebrated together.
In the years after the first thanks giving, there were problems between the newcomers and the Native Americans. The newcomer took land from the Indians. They killed the Indians and destroyed the Native American way of life. Today many Americans feel ashamed about this. Some states celebrate Native American days. On these days, Americans honor Native Americans and remember the peace and friendship of the first Thanksgiving.
Today people can vist Mayflower II in Plymouth, Massachusetts. This ship looks like the Pilgrims' Mayflower, but it is not very old. In 1957, people in England built MayflowerII and sailed from England to Plymouth, Massachusetts. Visitors walk around on this ship and learn about the Pilgrims. Guides wear Pilgrim clothes and talk about life on the Mayflower.

This is where the Mayflower left Plymouth in England in 1620 to go to the New World. The Thanksgiving Day of the USA is in memory of this event.

Enchanted!
"The movies like to promise girls and women a happily ever after, but it’s unusual that one delivers an ending that makes you feel unsullied and uncompromised, that doesn’t make you want to reach for your Simone de Beauvoir or a Taser". This comment is extracted from The New York Times's review of the movie.
Enchanted is the story about the beautiful princess Giselle, living in the animated fairytale world Andalasia. When Giselle falls in love with the handsome prins Prince Edward, her mother, the evil queen Narissa is so upset she casts an evil spell on Giselle, sending her to a place of no love and harmony, real-life Manhattan. The reason why the Queen sends Giselle to the real-life is that this is " the place where there're no ' happily ever afters' ".
The once upon a time begins with the animated Giselle, a pastel creation with a pointy chin and trilling voice, merrily chattering with her furry and feathered woodland friends. Although she isn’t scrubbing down the front steps in rags and clogs, Giselle has clearly been conceived, more thematically than visually, along the same lines as classic Disney heroines like Snow White and Cinderella. She’s pretty, she’s perky, she’s flat (well, not entirely), and when she sings about her one true love, it isn’t long before he emerges on horseback.
When Giselle comes to NY., she is not only scared of the large and strange place but also the cold and unfriendly citizens. She runs all the way asking for help, but no one answers. The thing that scares her most is that she could not see a smile on the New Yorkers' faces. Fortunately, she finally meets an honest lawyer and his motherless daughter. At first, he intends to put her up for just one night, but when he looks at her innocent and pretty face when she sleeps, he could not pick up the phone to call a taxi for her.
During her stay at the lawyer's house, a lot of troubles are caused and you just cannot help laughing when you see how the animals help her do the housework. Also, you will be impressed by the lovely costumes that the main actress wears and the exciting theme songs.
